Cochrane Qualitative Research Methods Group posts new guidance

The Cochrane Qualitative Research Methods Group has posted two draft chapters of guidance for reviewers on their website in addition to Chapter 20 of the Cochrane Handbook.

The two new chapters focus on searching for qualitative evidence and quality appraisal of qualitative evidence. These drafts are currently in peer review with the Handbook editors. However, authors who consider the inclusion of qualitative data in their systematic reviews are more than welcome to have a look. We welcome any comments that could improve the guidance.

Coming up next are the draft chapters on how to use qualitative evidence to inform effectiveness reviews, writing a protocol that includes qualitative evidence, data-extraction of qualitative evidence, methods to synthesize and integrate qualitative evidence in Cochrane intervention reviews and reporting in RevMan.
